In recent years, the zebrafish has gained significance as an animal model for investigating neurodevelopmental disorders, owing to its high physiological similarity to humans and its responsiveness to genetic and pharmacological interventions.44,45 The acyl-CoA binding domain of human and zebrafish ACBD6 share significant identity and similarity in the ankyrin-repeat motif and acyl-CoA binding domain, with 80% identity and 95.4% similarity in the former and 69.2% identity and 78.2% similarity in the latter. Here, ACBD6 is linked to neurodevelopmental disorder.
