In conclusion, our findings first demonstrated that the IGFBP3 gene may play a role in the pathogenesis of NAFLD; the IGFBP3 rs2854744 “GT+TT” genotype had a 2.7-fold increased risk of NAFLD compared with its “GG” genotype counterpart. The gene discussed is IGFBP3; the disease is metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease.
