Immunohistochemical analysis of MIA3 in a tissue microarray (TMA) containing 92 pairs of HCC cancer tissue and adjacent nontumor tissue samples was performed by scoring cell staining (Fig. 2C, D), and survival analysis based on these results showed that overexpression of MIA3 is an unfavourable prognostic factor in HCC related to decreased overall survival (Fig. 2E). This evidence concerns the gene MIA3 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
