In the present study, the induction of hyperlipidaemia and atherosclerosis in Gpr91−/− and WT littermate mice, with the injection of recombinant adeno-associated virus vector (AAV) encoding gain-of-function mutant Pcsk9, showed that the overall ablation of GPR91-dependent signalling does not influence vascular inflammation and atherogenesis. Here, SUCNR1 is linked to atherosclerosis.
