Proteins with a large fold change and a relationship of interest with cell populations (neurons, microglia, and astroglia) or with the pathological α-syn protein and its potential role in PD were validated as DEPs, which included a total of five upregulated DEPs (GNAI1, EEF1A1, PLP1, NPTN, and YWHAH) and two downregulated DEPs (GRIM19 and ORM2) (Figs. 1 and 3). This evidence concerns the gene PLP1 and Parkinson disease.
