Primary biliary cholangitis and PSC may have features of AIH such as elevated serum aminotransferases, ANA-ASMA positivity, and interface hepatitis on histology, while some degree of serum ALP elevation, seropositivity for anti-mitochondrial antigen (AMA), and lymphocytic cholangitis on histology can be detected in AIH. This evidence concerns the gene BTG3 and autoimmune hepatitis.
