ABI3 and cancer: Since most cancers rely on reactivation of telomerase, combined with the analysis of ABI3 survival results in BRCA, high ABI3 expression may contribute to the inhibition of telomerase-related activities, indicating that ABI3 may play an indispensable role in oncogenesis and cancer development by participating in the regulation of telomerase activity (O'Sullivan and Telomeres, 2010).
