HEPH and Miyoshi myopathy: The above authors analyzed FFPE archived autopsy heart tissue belonging to 77 individuals who died due to mesothelioma (MM) and 48 individuals exposed to asbestos but who did not develop MM or other neoplastic respiratory diseases (NMAE), and found three genotypes (C/C, G/G, C/C for ferritin, transferrin, and hephaestin, respectively) significantly associated with a protection against mesothelioma development.
