Over 30 proteins are known to cause amyloidosis; however, transthyretin CA, i.e. ATTR-CA, has been explored in much greater detail.1,2 The ATTR-CA was previously classified as a rare form of infiltrative cardiomyopathy; however, recent advances in diagnostic imaging have led to a significant increase in disease awareness and diagnosis in the past decade. Here, TTR is linked to amyloidosis.
