Mutations in the ROBO3 receptor are associated with axon midline crossing defects in the hindbrain, in patients with horizontal gaze palsy with progressive scoliosis (HGPPS) while de novo mutations in SLIT2/3 are identified in schizophrenia patients (Jen et al., 2004; Gulsuner et al., 2013).
