LOX and neoplasm: Furthermore, promoting lactate oxidation can also exacerbate hypoxia in tumors, enhancing the therapeutic effect of hypoxic‐activated prodrugs, such as tirapazamine (TPZ) and banoxantrone dihydrochloride.[98, 99] Typically, Shi's group developed a microbiotic nanomedicine (LOX/TPZ@Lips‐LA) by anchoring liposomes loaded with LOX and TPZ onto the surface of lactobacillus (LA) (Figure 13C).[98] LA endowed nanomedicine with tumor‐targeting properties, enabling it to effectively deliver TPZ and LOX to tumor tissues.
