In our asthma mouse model, the expression levels of VEGF and VEGFR2, which play important roles in airway remodeling through their effect on inflammation and angiogenesis (Smith 2014; Huang et al. 2016), were decreased, which indicated that VEGF and VEGFR2 were also potential targets of PP121 in asthma.
