Experimental studies suggest that miR-126-3p plays a significant role in endothelial function, inflammation, and signaling pathways relevant to atherosclerosis by modulating mechanisms such as the mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) cascade, and the phosphatidylinositol-3-kinase (PI3K) signaling pathway41 and targeting key mediators such as VCAM-1, IL-6, and TNF-α42. Here, IL6 is linked to atherosclerosis.
