Unexpectedly, pS207-dependent nuclear re-localization of LysRS during HIV-1 infection was also observed and MAPK/extracellular signal-regulated kinase (MEK) inhibitor U0126, blocked the nuclear localization of LysRS; however, the role of nuclear LysRS in HIV-1 replication in cells remains unknown. The gene discussed is KARS1; the disease is HIV-1 infection.
