PAX6 and diabetes mellitus: Moreover, by overlapping the differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in our dataset with PAX6‐bound genes identified in previously published chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP)‐sequencing data in EndoC‐βH2 cells (GSE87530) (Swisa et al, 2017), we found that the shared genes were highly enriched in several aspects or pathways including T2D, maturity‐onset diabetes of the young (MODY), MAPK signaling, IL‐17 signaling, insulin secretion and resistance, and phospholipase D signaling (Fig 7G), which are all closely related to beta cell function and diabetes.
