A meta-analysis conducted by El Aliani et al. found that methylation of promoter CpG sites increased as lesion severity increased from LSIL/CIN1 to HSIL/CIN2-3 to invasive cervical cancer for the genes we considered for this analysis: CADM1, CCNA1, CDH1, CDKN2A, DAPK1, FHIT, MAL, PAX1, RARB, and RASSF1 [15]. Here, CDKN2A is linked to cervical carcinoma.
