Several articles have reported an increased expression of PRSS3 (mesotrypsin) in various human digestive pathologies, including colon adenocarcinoma (Zhang et al., 2021), gastric cancer (Wang et al., 2019), irritable bowel syndrome (Rolland-Fourcade et al., 2017), or pancreatitis (Szmola et al., 2003; Toldi et al., 2020). The gene discussed is PRSS3; the disease is colon adenocarcinoma.
