GCG and congenital isolated hyperinsulinism: The glycogenolytic effect of glucagon and its ability to increase plasma glucose levels has been confirmed in children with CHI (11, 12), with transient administration of glucagon (via intravenous [IV] continuous infusion or as bolus subcutaneous [SC] or intramuscular injections) often used during or after diagnosis to stabilize CHI patients before initiation of other medical or surgical treatments.
