Until now, investigations into the use of glucagon for the prevention and treatment of hypoglycemia in CHI have been limited to short-term observational studies and case reports of the intermittent IV administration of human glucagon (9, 10, 14), and an ongoing phase 2 study investigating once-weekly SC administration of a glucagon analogue, HM15136 (23). The gene discussed is GCG; the disease is congenital isolated hyperinsulinism.
