ACE2 and COVID-19: Studies conducted on Turkish, Italian, and Spanish populations reported that ACE2 gene rs2106809 and rs2285666 polymorphisms were not associated with the severity of COVID-19 infection [20–22], while Sienko et al. demonstrated that genotypes AA, TT, GG, TT, and TT, respectively, of rs2285666, rs2074192, rs4646174, rs4646156, and rs2158083 of the ACE2 gene have the most significant correlation with COVID-19 in Polish population [23].
