NPPB and heart failure: In NSTEMI patients, the AHF group had lower levels of HDL-C compared to the non-AHF group (0.97 ± 0.22 vs. 1.05 ± 0.29, P = 0.020), and higher levels of myocardial injury and heart failure markers, including creatine phosphokinase (CPK, 236 (116–879) vs. 154 (76–376), P = 0.010), creatine kinase-MB (CK-MB, 31 (19–78) vs. 22 (16–42), P = 0.008), hydroxybutyrate dehydrogenase (HBDH, 274 (188–444) vs. 197 (151–324), P = 0.001), and B-type natriuretic peptide (BNP, 913 (284–3,193) vs. 456 (149–1,610), P = 0.006).
