Interestingly, several obesity-upregulated KEGG pathways aligned with our findings in pigs, including ‘ABC transporters’, ‘Phosphotransferase system (PTS)’, ‘Galactose metabolism’, ‘Lipopolysaccharide biosynthesis’, and ‘Fructose and mannose metabolism’. Here, ABCG2 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
