The expression of ligands for NKG2D receptor (NKG2DL), namely MICA, MICB, and the UL16 binding proteins (ULBP)1-6 has been reported in different tumor types including pediatric AML and ALL (7, 8), making them attractive targets for NKG2D-CAR based therapies. This evidence concerns the gene KLRK1 and acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
