SERPING1 and hereditary angioedema: Hereditary angioedema is a rare autosomal dominant disorder resulting from deficiency in C1-INH (hereditary angioedema with C1 inhibitor deficiency type I) or dysfunctional C1-INH (hereditary angioedema with C1 inhibitor deficiency type II), while acquired angioedema results from consumption or inactivation of C1-INH or decrease in bradykinin degradation by ACEI [38-41].
