PHF14 and Alzheimer disease: Functions of the several highlighted genes (IL6R, INPP5D, CCR3, HLA-DQA1, HLA-DRB1, PHF14, PLEKHA1, ITGAX, APOE, CNN2), belonging to the second subgroup of shared protein-coding genes, relate to the development of the immune response and inflammation, what is in a good agreement with the current understanding of the critical role of inflammatory responses in the development of various neurodegenerative diseases, particularly AD (Hammond et al., 2019).
