It was also reported that RGS17 was aberrantly highly expressed in colorectal, hepatocellular and cervical cancer tissues and their cell lines [17–19], but interestingly, it is markedly reduced in ovarian cancer and appears to function as a tumour suppressor gene, which may be due to the inhibition of the LPA-mediated AKT activation pathway by the expression of RGS17 [20] (Figs. 4 and 5, Table 1). The gene discussed is RGS17; the disease is ovarian carcinoma.
