Lastly, 1 pair showed a difference in risk of disease in the same direction but with a different effect size: HLA-DQB1*02:01:01 was associated with a 1.29-fold increase in the odds of coeliac disease (95% CI: 1.19–1.40, p = 5.27 × 10−10), but HLA-DQB1*02:01:08 was associated with an even higher risk with an odds ratio of 2.60 (95% CI: 2.39–2.87, p = 6.42 × 10−110). The gene discussed is HLA-DQB1; the disease is celiac disease.
