We identified 56 genes with significantly enriched SGMs of tobacco smoking, APOBEC, and ROS signatures relative to the exome-wide distributions of these signatures and all SGMs: 14 genes in lung and liver cancers with the tobacco smoking signature SBS4; 44 genes in breast, head and neck, and uterine cancers with the APOBEC signature SBS13; and 1 gene (APC) with the ROS signature SBS18 in colorectal cancers (Fig. 3A and table S1) (Brown FDR < 0.05, Fisher’s exact tests). The gene discussed is APC; the disease is liver cancer.
