A meta-analysis strongly supports the idea that CD24 acts as an important marker of malignancy and poor prognosis in several cancers [35].Overexpression of CD24 protein or CD24 positivity occurs in a large variety of human malignancies, especially in solid tumors, including esophageal squamous cell carcinoma [37], ovarian cancer [35], prostate cancer [38], small-cell and non‐small‐cell lung carcinomas [39], breast cancer [40] as well as B‐cell lymphoma [41]. This evidence concerns the gene CD24 and B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
