As we known, insects can activate the humoral response, for example, the production of antimicrobial peptides by Toll/Imd (immune deficiency) and downstream signaling pathways, lysozymes, and rapidly activated phenoloxidase (PO) cascade‐mediated melanization constitute the humoral immune response of insects, and besides, they also initiate the cellular response to phagocytose bacteria and encapsulate parasites (Lemaitre & Hoffmann, 2007; Myllymaki et al., 2014; Sheehan et al., 2018). This evidence concerns the gene PRB4 and Immunodeficiency.
