Diabetes incidence, defined in these mice as blood glucose ≥250 mg/dl for two consecutive readings (obtained over 10 days), although not significantly different between the two groups due to the small numbers, reached a maximum of 80% by 20 weeks in vehicle-treated mice, whereas it reached a maximum of 20% by 16 weeks in the OPG-treated mice (Fig. 6B).
