HLA-B*15:02 or HLA-B*15:11 carriers initiating carbamazepine, lamotrigine, phenytoin, or oxcarbazepine are at higher risk of developing SJS/TEN, as well as HLA-B*58:01 carriers initiating allopurinol (Hung et al., 2006; Yip et al., 2012; Cheung et al., 2013; Wu et al., 2016; Asgarpour et al., 2021). This evidence concerns the gene HLA-B and Schwartz-Jampel syndrome.
