In contrast to anti-inflammatory IL-10 that suppresses macrophage31 and proinflammatory Th17 T-cell responses32,33 and the dual roles of IL-6 in the tumor microenvironment34,35, we provide solid evidence that IL-8 triggers the EMT process and dynamic crosstalk between tumor cells and the host surrounding tissue in ICC. Here, CXCL8 is linked to intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma.
