Compared with participants with Hs-cTnI concentration < LOD, those with Hs-cTnI concentration ≥ 99th URL were older (mean age, 64.57 years vs. 37.32 years), less likely to be female (47.9% vs. 74.8%) and had a higher prevalence of prediabetes (39.1% vs. 15.5%) and hypertension (66.3% vs. 12.0%). The gene discussed is TNNI3; the disease is prediabetes syndrome.
