FABP1 and acute kidney injury: Furthermore, the levels of urinary L-FABP, which reflects renal ischaemia13,14, significantly increased after TAVI than before TAVI in both AKI and non-AKI groups, and levels of urinary L-FABP remained significantly in the AKI group than in the non-AKI group during the peri-operative period of TAVI, suggesting that TAVI caused renal ischaemia and that more severe renal ischaemia may be provoked by TAVI in the kidneys of patients with AKI.
