Zhang et al. (2016) found that apigenin attenuated experimental autoimmune myocarditis in mice by reducing Th1-related inflammatory cytokines (IFN-γ and IL-2). Moreover, Su et al. (2011) found that inhibition of IL-17 secreted by Th17 cells reduced the severity of myocarditis and improved the cardiac pathological changes of myocarditis. This evidence concerns the gene IL2 and autoimmune myocarditis.
