In idiopathic intracranial hypertension, Alimajstorovic et al. identified novel changes in lipid metabolites (ceramides, glycerophospholipids and lysoglycerophospholipids) and meal-stimulated glucagon-like peptide-1 levels following bariatric surgery which were associated with changes in intracranial pressure, most notably following Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. The gene discussed is GCG; the disease is pseudotumor cerebri.
