In view of the role of inflammasomes in RA disease, we investigated the relative mRNA expression levels of common inflammasomes, including NLRP1, NLRP2, NLRP3, NLRC4, NLRC5, NLRP12, AIM2, CARD8, IFI16, Pyrin and related molecules, including NAIP, caspase-1, caspase-4, Caspase-5, IL-1beta and IL-18, in human PBMCs of RA patients and HC individuals. This evidence concerns the gene NLRP2 and rheumatoid arthritis.
