Given the loss of pigmentation (Figs. 3–4) and low levels of nuclear MITF (Fig. 5), as well as the increase in metastatic and invasive markers that characterize the TG2 KO clones (Fig. 2g, l), we speculated that TG2 could play a role in regulating the transition between melanoma plasticity signatures. The gene discussed is MITF; the disease is melanoma.
