Using affinity chromatography on GAL-1-agarose columns and immunoprecipitation, LAMP-1 and LAMP-2 were first identified as candidate GAL-1 receptors in Chinese Hamster Ovary (CHO), human A121 ovarian carcinoma and butyrate-differentiated KM12 colon carcinoma cell membrane extracts (66, 67, 68) (Table 1). This evidence concerns the gene LAMP2 and colon carcinoma.
