Shimizu et al. described a method for evaluating the antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) of infection using live SARS-CoV-2 in an induced pluripotent stem (iPS)-cell-derived myeloid cell line (clone #35) expressing angiotensin-converting enzyme 2 (ACE2), which acts as a receptor for the SARS-CoV-2 virus and allows it to infect the cell, and transmembrane serine protease 2 (TMPRSS2), which is involved in the entry and spread of coronaviruses. This evidence concerns the gene ACE2 and infection.
