Irregular expression of NLRP3 inflammasome could promote the activation of pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β and IL-18, which might be involved in the pathogenesis of IBD [7], and the activation of NF-κB and ERK1/2 signaling pathways could also enhance the protein expression of NLRP3 inflammasome [33,34].
