Despite slightly different primary endpoints (besides cardiovascular death and HF-related hospitalization, DELIVER included urgent HF visit) both studies demonstrated a reduction from 18% to 21% in the rate of HF hospitalization and cardiovascular death with SGLT2 inhibitors (HR: 0.79, 95% CI 0.69–0.90, p < 0.001 in EMPEROR-Preserved and HR: 0.82, 95% CI 0.73–0.92, p < 0.001 in DELIVER) [80,81]. This evidence concerns the gene SLC5A2 and hydrops fetalis.
