NPPB and cancer: The 2022 ESC guidelines suggest that measurement of serum cardiac biomarkers, including cardiac troponin (cTn) I or T and natriuretic peptides (NPs) (e.g., B-type natriuretic peptide [BNP] or N-terminal pro-BNP [NT-proBNP]) can help assess the baseline CV risk in patients undergoing various cancer therapies (including anthracyclines, HER2-targeted therapies, VEGF inhibitors, proteasome inhibitors, ICI, CAR-T, and tumor-infiltrating lymphocyte therapies).
