GNAQ and coronary stenosis: Perhaps the GC/TT or GC/GC genotype carriers may be more sensible to angiotensin II receptor blockade with appropriate antihypertensive drugs because of the chronic setting of Gαq overexpression, or they may receive higher doses of these drugs, thus minimizing their risk of cardiovascular events and coronary artery stenosis, arguing for the higher cardiovascular risk among TT/TT genotype carriers than among GC/TT or GC/GC genotype carriers observed in the current study.
