The c.825C > T single-nucleotide polymorphism of GNB3 has been widely studied, and many published reports have shown that the TT genotype confers an increased risk of arterial hypertension, development of left ventricular hypotrophy, and occurrence of common acute cardiovascular events such as myocardial infarction or stroke among populations without chronic kidney disease [2,4,5,6,7,8,9,10]. This evidence concerns the gene GNB3 and myocardial infarction.
