Wang et al. performed in vitro experiments to compare the effects of different ablation temperatures (−80 °C, −40 °C, 0 °C, 37 °C, and 60 °C) on immunogenic cell death-related substances in multiple cell lines and found that the release of ATP, high mobility group box 1 (HMGB-1), and CXCL10 in HCC cell lines was significantly increased after both cryoablation and thermal ablation, whereas the expression levels of calreticulin, one of the DAMPs, were significantly different between high- and low-temperature ablation [36].
