In addition, cytokines TNF-α, IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, and IL-18, along with serum albumin and transferrin, were also found to be involved in the inflammatory damage caused by C. krusei yeast phase and hypha phase infection in rat mammary breast, and the inflammatory damage caused by the hypha phase was more severe than that caused by the yeast phase (unpublished data).
