We have also confirmed the diabetic cardiomyopathy in these rats by the increment in heart weights, impairments in cardiac systolic and diastolic function, the morphological damage of the cardiomyocytes, increased collagen synthesis and deposition, and higher serum levels of TPI, LDH, CK-MB, ANP, and BNP. Here, NPPA is linked to diabetic cardiomyopathy.
