He et al. reported that in a mouse model of exertional heat stroke (EHS)-induced rhabdomyolysis (RM), YAP expression was significantly enhanced in the skeletal muscle tissues, and that mechanistically, YAP was able to induce ferroptosis in the skeletal muscle cells by upregulating ACSL4 expression, which eventually led to RM [17].
