These findings were later corroborated by Versteylen MO et al. [27], who used conventional ultrasound and speckle tracking strain analysis in a population of 53 patients with cardiac amyloidosis and found a lower LA reservoir function in patients with transthyretin amyloidosis (7.4 (6.2%) vs. 13.6 (14.7%), p = 0.017), with no differences in LV systolic and diastolic pressures, atrial dimensions, and geometry between AL and ATTR subtypes.
