INS and Hypoglycemia: A careful history should then be reviewed that includes prescribed medication associated with hypoglycaemia (Table 2), over-the-counter supplements and herbal remedies (which may be contaminated with insulin secretagogues [21,22,23,24,25]), dietary toxins (such as unripe ackee nuts and mushrooms causing liver failure) [26], potential access to hypoglycaemic drugs and alcohol intake should be ascertained as these may provide aetiological clues.
