Both receptors were found in all areas, and with two main conclusions: (i) the two receptors are expressed in neurons that degenerate in Parkinson’s disease (PD), i.e., in nigral dopaminergic neurons, and (ii) the levels of AT2 receptors in samples from patients with Alzheimer’s disease (AD) are increased in the temporal cortex [23].
